Research & Training
Beyond projectspecific work, or during detailed design stages, the
Sustainability Portal will also contain a repository of research and
training resources. This repository will provide access to a wide set of
research documents ranging from sustainable design research and
basic introductions to sustainability issues and to technical research
and studies which may be useful to specialists carrying out detailed
analysis. This section will also redirect users to indepth training and
research materials provided by external sustainability and green
building resources.
Future developments
As users become more familiar with the interface
of the Sustainability Portal, new datasets,
capabilities and functionalites are expected to be
added, allowing the portal to evolve in a manner
that reflects the needs of Dar AlHandasah's
staff and projects. It is also hoped that the
Sustainability Portal will become more integrated
with existing Insidar resources such as the PMIS
and the wealth of data available on GW@dar.
Through this and other innovations, the London
Sustainability Group hopes to add value to more
projects in the future, and to further integrate
sustainability into the design process. It is also
hoped that the Sustainability Portal would
provide a platform for the wider design teams to
engage with sustainability issues and to provide
valuable feedback, ultimately leading to better
and more sustainable projects.
