In March 2016, Rubicon Front Puffin successfully set sail for
Aje Field with a hydrocarbon production facility designed to
receive well fluids, to separate and stabilise the produced
crude, to store the fuel in tanks and to treat and discharge
produced water and gas. It has gas compression for artificial
lift of wells and a tandem offtake and mooring system and
floating hose arrangement, which enables crude transfer to
customer tankers.
Phase One of oil production at Aje field is now underway, with
production soon expected to hit around 9,000 barrels per day.
Rubicon, in turn, has been rewarded with significantly reduced
costs and timescales.
