The Bidbid-Sur Motorway

Six new landmark bridges are rising in Oman as part of the Bidbid-Sur motorway, a
project that expands the existing road between Bidbid, an inland town west of Muscat,
and Sur, the main town of the Sharquia South governorate.

Dar's scope is limited to one section of the project, Section 1, itself comprised of two
packages, 1-A and 1-B. Package 1-A covers the first 40 km of the road including the six
balanced cantilever viaducts (Figures 1 & 2) and a number of urban flyovers. 1-B covers
the last 75 km of Section 1, including one major bypass, one minor bypass and nine
interchanges.
