Milestones
Human resource strength: Growth in the office’s staff numbers exceeded 60%, a sign of the Amman team’s increasing work load. New departments: Resources & Environment is the latest department to be formed, bringing Amman’s total to seven departments. New buildings: Renovation works were completed, as was the Amman guest house, which allows Dar Amman to welcome visitors in comfort. Training: Training continues to play a key role especially in nurturing newcomers. LEED quality: The number of Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)-accredited architects and engineers is high compared with other international design consultancies. In some departments, the percentage of LEED certified personnel exceeds 70. Internal hub: The Amman design office is becoming a hub for meetings and training programs that bring in Dar’s other offices. Social responsibility: The Amman office held a Green Apple Day with elementary schools in Amman under the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) umbrella. It has also helped with the design of the Salt City Center development project and participated in activities connected to orphan charities.
