The category in this case, Refurbishment Project of the Year (value over GBP 5 million), recognizes the same attributes as the New Build category but within an existing building. This complex project shows an innovative approach to integrating energy efficient services into a complex grade II building whilst maximizing commercial use/ value of the listed site and ensuring a luxurious development. The key to this inventive scheme was to delicately integrate all the usage requirements into a complicated heritage building and achieve great building performance with extremely high energy efficiency, which has been evidenced post-handover.
