Overview
Gewan Island is a new mixed-use entertainment and residential island located 350 metres offshore of Doha’s West Bay Coast. The island is designed as an extension of The Pearl-Qatar to cater for its residents’ accommodation and investment needs. The development has a site of 67 ha and a gross floor area of 360,000 m² and boasts residential units ranging from serviced apartments to beachfront, waterfront, and exclusive island villas; two hotels; and an entertainment hub which features an outdoor air-conditioned Crystal Walkway. The island is also home to a 9-hole golf course, a clubhouse, and a mosque on a total built up area of 360,000 m².
Services
The project
Dar was commissioned to provide a master plan, detailed design, and tender documents. The scope of the project covers master planning services including the validation and refinement of the concept master plan provided by the client, concept master plan development, and detailed master plan and development control regulations. The scope also comprises infrastructure services that cover the concept, preliminary and detailed design of infrastructure works including roads, wet and dry infrastructure networks, and site landscape.
