Spotlighting the future of Ethiopia’s construction industry at the Big 5 Construct Ethiopia

Location Africa

Demonstrating incredible resilience and visionary ambition, countries across Africa are accounting for some of the world’s fastest-growing economies in 2024, setting the pace with strategic building and infrastructure projects that are driving sustainable development across sectors. From new airports and entirely new capital cities to hospitals, vaccine plants, roads, ports, and more, Africa is witnessing a historic boom, as it steps up to play a leading role in the global economy and in the energy transition. With such energy, it is critical to grasp the opportunity to drive ambitious building and infrastructure projects forward, while incorporating the best and latest practices in urban planning, sustainability, digital solutions and services, and construction technologies.

To carry this conversation forward, Dar is honoured to be a Gold Sponsor of the Big 5 Construct Ethiopia 2024, which will take place from May 30th until June 1st at the Millennium Hall in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, the summit is Ethiopia’s largest construction event, bringing together more than 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries as well as more than 9,000 expected attendees. Collectively the leading minds and businesses in the construction industry, these exhibitors and attendees will showcase cutting-edge construction products and solutions, exchange ideas, and explore topics that range from infrastructure and technology to project management, architecture and design, and engineering.

Throughout the conference, Dar will be hosting its own exhibition stand at Booth 1D11. Our experts will outline Dar’s expertise in providing consultancy services – including design, planning, engineering, project management, sustainability consulting, facility management, and digital solutions and services – for building and infrastructure projects across Ethiopia and Africa.

Additionally, Dar’s Regional Senior Digital Practice Specialist Abdul Kareem Elsabeeh will be holding a session titled “Designing tomorrow: Embracing modular construction in digital design practice” on Friday May 31st at 11:00 AM. Abdul Kareem will discuss how prefabrication and offsite construction techniques can enhance precision in construction, spotlight the pivotal role of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in modular construction, and highlight the advantages of sustainability, scalability and design freedom that can be offered within modular construction.

Join Dar at the Big 5 Construct Ethiopia to discover more about the future of the construction industry in one of Africa’s most ambitious nations.
