Passenger Terminal Expo has long served as one of the aviation industry’s established meeting points, where airport operators, airlines and infrastructure specialists convene to discuss what comes next. This September, that platform arrives in Asia for the first time. Passenger Terminal Expo Asia 2026 will bring its inaugural edition to Singapore's Sands Expo & Convention Centre on 23–24 September, expected to draw thousands of industry professionals from across the region and beyond.

The two-day conference and exhibition will be convened in a programme set for airport operators, aviation authorities, airlines, industry leaders, innovators, and solution providers around the forces reshaping the sector, from passenger experience and digital transformation to sustainability, investment and future-ready infrastructure.

Dar is joining PTE Asia 2026 as part of this conversation, with decades of aviation experience across Asia and around the world, including some of the sector’s most complex airport environments. Over the two days of the conference, two of Dar's experts will take the stage to share perspectives on two areas increasingly shaping the future of airports: sustainability and digital intelligence.

Advancing the conversation on sustainable airport infrastructure

On 23 September at 12:00, Balsam Nehme, Dar’s Sustainability Partner and Sidara’s Group Executive Director for Sustainability and Implementation, will present “Decarbonization of Infrastructure Construction – A Look into Airport’s Sustainability”.

Balsam Nehme is a sustainability leader specialising in decarbonisation, climate resilience and the delivery of high-performance, low-carbon infrastructure. Her work focuses on translating sustainability ambitions into practical strategies that can be implemented across buildings, infrastructure and cities.

In her session, Balsam will explore how airports can support the aviation industry's path to net-zero by 2050 through a whole-systems approach spanning energy, infrastructure, water and circular economy principles. She will also consider how certification frameworks can help translate sustainability ambitions into measurable performance, providing a credible path towards more resilient, resource-efficient and future-ready airport ecosystems.

Exploring the role of AI in passenger experience

On 24 September, Amr Aboul Nasr El Yafi, Digital Strategy and Business Development Manager at Dar, will present “Elevating the Passenger Experience Through Invisible AI”. Drawing on his background in mechanical engineering and management, Amr focuses on how digital tools and data can support better decision-making across the built environment, helping translate complex information into practical, actionable insights.

His session will turn to the passenger journey and the growing role of artificial intelligence within it, exploring the idea of “invisible AI”: intelligence that works quietly in the background to support a simpler, more intuitive airport experience. Rather than focusing on technology for its own sake, the discussion will consider how AI can be designed around the needs of passengers and airport operations.

Nehme and El Yafi’s contributions place Dar directly within the central themes of PTE Asia 2026: passenger experience, digital innovation, sustainability and future-ready airport infrastructure.
