The Ministry of Environment of Rwanda, Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA), and Orion Basketball Club are collaborating on a campaign that uses the game of basketball as a mean to encourage and boost tree planting efforts in Rwanda.

The One Shot One Green Campaign promises to plant a tree for every basketball shot taken throughout the Champion and All-Star Tournaments, aiming to plant no less than 100,000 trees a year. The initiative is set to begin in November, with Dar as a sponsor, and aims to promote environmental awareness and accelerate the country’s tree planting efforts.

The campaign was unveiled at a high-level breakfast meeting in Kigali on September 29^th 2023. In attendance were the Ministry of Environment, FERWABA, Orion organizations, key stakeholders and partners to discuss and share their expertise with the goal of creating significant impact and contributing to a healthier environment and planet.
