From October 15 to October 18, Rwanda’s Kigali Convention Centre will host the Global Engineering Conference on Sustainable Development as well as the Executive Committee Meetings of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations.

Under the theme “Engineering Innovations for a Sustainable Future,” the global conference will bring together over 1,000 high-level delegates, engineers, researchers, industry experts, and other specialists from all over the world to share best practices, explore emerging technologies, foster and accelerate collaboration and identify innovative engineering solutions for a more sustainable future.

As one of Rwanda’s leading design consultants, Dar is honoured to be serving as a Platinum sponsor for this critical summit, which will spotlight how engineers can accelerate progress towards five of the United Nations’ key Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education (SDG4), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG7), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11) and Climate Action (SDG 13).

During the conference proceedings, on October 17th, Dar’s Partner and Director of Operations for Rwanda Elie Kharrat will participate in a panel discussion on Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The panel will explore critical themes surrounding building sustainable infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.
