With a remarkable new venture to support state-of-the-art cancer care in Jordan, Dar – through our Chairman and CEO Talal Shair – has signed an agreement with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Centre, represented by Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, national foundation founded in 2001 by Royal Decree. Its mission is to provide multidisciplinary, world-class cancer treatment, lead national efforts for cancer prevention and early detection, ensure equal access to treatment, and lead innovative Arab cancer research.

Through this agreement, Dar affirms its commitment to supporting the foundation’s mission to combat cancer and advancing essential healthcare initiatives by providing design services for the Centre’s future projects including a new paediatric care building dedicated to treating childhood cancers, as well as a hematologic oncology centre for adult patients.

During the ceremony, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal highlighted the significance of this collaboration, expressing how meaningful it is to the foundation’s efforts to save lives and enhance the care offered to thousands of patients. Her statement underscored the real impact that strategic partnerships with institutions like Dar can bring to the fight against cancer.

For his part, Mr. Shair commented that, “Building on our absolute support for the vital role played by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in providing comprehensive care to cancer patients across Jordan, and building on our belief that the integration of engineering, medical, and social work constitutes a fundamental pillar in facing health and humanitarian challenges, we are honored to be supporting  cancer patients, especially children, by providing innovative design solutions that contribute to ensuring the best possible health and psychological care for them. We are honored to be a part of this work, which reflects the spirit of hope, supports the journey of healing, and strengthens Jordan's medical standing in the region."

This initiative forms part of the foundation’s continued efforts to expand capacity and sustain the delivery of advanced care to patients in Jordan and beyond. It also demonstrates the value of community partnerships in supporting and securing the future resilience of the health sector.

The signing ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, along with management teams from the foundation, the centre, and Dar.
