Dar is pleased to announce that research by Aabha Bansode, Principal Landscape Architect and Head of the Landscape Architecture Department, and Bhagyashree Girgaonkar, Landscape Architect, has been accepted for the IFLA World Congress 2026 in Hong Kong.

At the 2026 Congress, Aabha and Bhagyashree will present their research, “Smart Coastal Landscapes: Reframing Coastlines as Adaptive, Data-Driven Ecological Infrastructure,” in a poster presentation.

The research explores how nature-based systems, real-time environmental sensing and adaptive public infrastructure can reframe coastlines as living, responsive landscapes. By combining ecological knowledge, data-driven processes and participatory approaches to placemaking, the research explores new ways to strengthen coastal resilience.

The IFLA Scientific Committee’s selection recognises the research as a contribution to ongoing discussions on adaptive and participatory approaches to coastal resilience.
