It is with deep sorrow that Dar announces the death of Dr. Sherif Wissa Agaiby, who passed away on August 19 after a difficult struggle with cancer. 

Dr. Wissa was the Director of the Geotechnical and Heavy Civil Engineering Department at Dar, as well as an active researcher and professor. Dr. Wissa received his BSc and Msc degrees in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1983 and 1987, respectively, and his PhD in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA in 1991.

Since joining Dar in 1991, Dr. Wissa has actively participated in planning, analysing, designing, furnishing specifications, and technical recommendations for a variety of engineering projects worldwide.
