As the world’s next tallest skyscraper rises past its 106th floor, Dar’s team stood alongside His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal to witness a major milestone in one of the world’s most ambitious and record-breaking construction projects.

This week, a team from Dar joined His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal on-site at Jeddah Tower, also known as Kingdom Tower, alongside other project stakeholders, for a first-hand look at progress on what is set to become the tallest building ever constructed.

The tower now stands at 430 metres, with its 106th floor complete, advancing steadily towards the 1,000-plus metres it is designed to reach. Once finished, Jeddah Tower will become the first building in history to cross the one-kilometre threshold, surpassing Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and setting a new global record for vertical construction. Sharing the update from the site, Prince Al-Waleed captured the scale of the moment in his own words: "We have reached a height of 430 meters out of 1000+ m." He also expressed clear confidence in the tower’s continued progress and its successful completion as the tallest in the world.

For Dar, the milestone carries particular significance. As Architect of Record, the firm has led the design review, carried out the geotechnical engineering study beneath the tower’s foundations, and continues to provide on-site construction supervision. The work spans a 9.5-hectare site and 265,000 square metres of built space, supporting a project whose scale, technical complexity and record-breaking ambition place it among the most extraordinary developments in the world.

Jeddah Tower is envisioned as the centrepiece of Jeddah Economic City, a mixed-use district set to redefine the northern edge of the city. When complete, it will house luxury residences, a five-star hotel, premium office space, and one of the highest observation decks on the planet — a vantage point onto the Red Sea unlike any other.

The visit comes as Jeddah Tower continues to make significant construction progress, advancing a landmark development that aligns with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030 and Saudi Arabia’s drive to deliver world-leading infrastructure and destinations of global significance.
