The Oman Design & Build Week – Oman’s most prominent B2B exhibition and conference for the building construction, design, and real estate industry – took place this week from May 19th until May 21st at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Now in its 20th edition, the summit brought together more than 14,000 attendees, 130 exhibitors, 14 country pavilions, and 60 conference speakers to showcase the latest technologies, materials, and solutions shaping design and construction in Oman. By bringing together the key players in Oman’s real estate market, the summit showcased investment opportunities and exceptional new projects and spotlighted the trends, challenges, and future prospects of this vibrant and dynamic market.

World-class design and consultancy for one of the GCC region’s most vibrant and ambitious markets

As one of Oman’s most active and impactful design consultancies, Dar was proud to be a Gold sponsor at this exceptional summit, exhibiting and showcasing our capabilities and expertise in the built environment.

Dar has been active in Oman since 1972 and has delivered over 65 projects across sectors such as regional spatial strategy, road projects, mixed-use developments and much more. Highlights of our portfolio in Oman include contributions to the most prominent ITC Development projects, Muscat and Salalah International Airports cities, the strategic Sharqia Expressway, and more.

These experiences, combined with our strong local and regional presence, have given us a familiarity with the local culture, national visions, expectations, and regulations set by local authorities and stakeholders. Moreover, with our long-term presence in Oman, our company is intricately familiar with local construction practices, materials, material performance, and protection methods implemented to create sustainable, resilient, and locally-appropriate solutions. ODBW 2025 was an exceptional opportunity for our team to share these insights and contribute to essential conversations on the future of Oman’s design and construction industry.

Planning, designing, and operating smarter and more sustainable cities

As part of our participation in the event, on Wednesday, May 21st, Dar’s Director of Sustainability Balsam Nehme, along with Director of Digital Solutions Faysal Shair, gave a presentation titled “A look into smart sustainable cities – Driving Oman Vision 2040.” The session was also attended by Dar’s company-wide Sector Lead for Facilities Management, Samir Kaddoura. The presentation showcased Dar’s extensive expertise and experience across the full lifecycle of master planning, designing, and maintaining a more sustainable built environment. From master planning smart cities and designing more sustainable buildings to creating digitally-enabled technology roadmaps and setting data-driven decarbonisation pathways, our experts showcased the latest industry best practices in sustainability, digital solutions, and facilities management. And they discussed pathways for leveraging these best practices to create exceptional value for clients and communities across Oman.
