On 7th December 2023, Dar received a special recognition award from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) during the Leaders’ Summit, held in conjunction with COP28.

The event – USGBC & GBCI Leaders’ Summit 2023: Market transformation through LEED – was hosted at the Dubai Chamber in the UAE and brought together esteemed members and partners of USGBC and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) to support the transformation of buildings and communities to create a more sustainable future.

The acknowledgment by USGBC recognised Dar as a proven industry leader, exemplified by consistent success in delivering LEED projects. Since becoming a platinum member in 2007, Dar has attained remarkable milestones, culminating in the successful completion and certification of 24 projects, including 3 LEED Platinum (with one operating at LEED Zero), 10 LEED Gold, and 8 LEED Silver certifications. The company is also currently engaged in 33 ongoing projects registered to LEED Online, with most targeting LEED Platinum and LEED Gold certifications.

Representing Dar at the Summit, Hala Omar, Senior Sustainability Expert at Dar, received the award from Peter Templeton, President and CEO of USGBC, GBCI and Arc.

This recognition represents Dar’s dedication in advancing sustainability within the built environment and in advocating for a healthier future for our communities.
