Discover our agenda       Explore Dar’s Sustainable Horizons Pavilion in the Metaverse

COP - Formally, the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations' Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) or the United Nations Climate Change Conference - is the annual meeting of the Supreme decision-making body of the UNFCCC and a crucial lynchpin in international efforts to address climate change. At COP, representatives from the United Nations' member states - as well as thought leaders, researchers, experts, consultants, and non-governmental organizations - gather to discuss progress on climate action and coordinate global climate action.

What
is COP?

The World's Most Prominent Conference on Global Climate Change

We arrive at COP with a vision for a way forward, incorporating both great ambitions and implementable actions we need to drive towards a lower-carbon future. And always, we lead by example, committing to bringing our own operations to net zero and accelerating our collective ability to support the thriving world we all dream of.

Talal Shair,
Chairman and CEO

Up to 75% of global carbon emissions can be directly linked to the built environment - the complex interconnected system of buildings, infrastructure, and shared places that supports our communities. And with the world undergoing the largest wave of urban growth in human history, our challenge - as engineers, designers, planners, and architects - is to find solutions that would make that growth sustainable, for people and planet.

At COP 28, Dar will be sharing thought leadership and research into transformative solutions that can be implemented to bend the carbon curve in the built environment. And we will be sharing insights into decarbonization pathways for some of the world's hardest-to-abate sectors, including everything from aviation and transportation to healthcare and data centers.

Why is
